Vietnam is interested in investing in Jalisco

JALISCO – A delegation of 17 Vietnamese businessmen and officials is currently in the state of Jalisco to explore investment and commercial exchange opportunities as they express their interest in investing in Jalisco and taking advantage of the opportunities presented by nearshoring.

According to Miguel Angel Landeros, the president of the Mexican Foreign Trade Council (Comce) of the West, these visits are now more focused on identifying participation opportunities rather than being exploratory in nature.

The increasing development and proximity to the most important consumer market in the world have opened doors with other Asian countries, including Vietnam and China, as per Landeros Volqarts.

The Honorary Consul of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Guadalajara added that the trade mission from Vietnam comprises of both businessmen and government officials who seek to explore various areas, such as food, processed foods, electronic industry, and tourism, and establish a closer approach.

Nguyen Ho Hai, the deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized the need to find effective mechanisms to bring trade closer with a joint vision of government-private initiative relationship, as Jalisco’s trade balance with that Vietnamese city remains small.
