Continental to invest US$90 million in new plant in Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes – Continental, the German corporation, has unveiled its intention to inject a sum of $90 million into the establishment of a fresh production facility for hydraulic hoses geared towards industrial usage within Aguascalientes state.

The initiation of Continental’s latest factory is poised to enhance local manufacturing capabilities and is anticipated to yield approximately 200 employment opportunities in its preliminary phase.

“Augmenting our industrial endeavors in the Americas region holds paramount importance for us,” remarked Philip Nelles, a member of Continental’s Executive Board responsible for the ContiTech Group Sector, as conveyed in the official statement.

Situated within the Vesta Industrial Park in the southern reaches of the state, the novel plant will span an expansive area totaling 85,000 square meters.

Commencement of construction is slated for the latter part of 2024, with operational activities anticipated to kick off in the latter half of 2025. This facility will mark Continental’s 22nd venture in Mexico, where it currently sustains a workforce of approximately 23,000 individuals, and notably, its second presence within the confines of Aguascalientes state.

The endeavor underscores Continental’s strategic initiative to fortify its industrial footprint, a move that aligns with its overarching objectives for regional expansion and economic consolidation.
