NUEVO LEON – In Mexico, the head of state, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, disclosed that Tesla, the company owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk, is planning to invest in building a car factory in the state of Nuevo Leon.

“Things are going well. We talked with Mr. Elon Musk, the director of Tesla, there is already an understanding, yes they are going to dedicate the investment to Mexico and the plant is going to be established in Monterrey with a series of commitments for the problem of water shortage, they are going to help in this sense,” he said.

The federal president explained that he spoke twice with the businessman, who is also the owner of Twitter, via videoconference.

“He was very receptive, understanding our concerns and accepting our proposals that will be announced starting tomorrow, this will mean a considerable investment and many jobs,” López Obrador stated.

The president confirmed that the primary obligation would be utilizing reclaimed water throughout the production of electric vehicles, encompassing the coating of automobiles, and expressed contentment with the consensus that was achieved.

It is notable that the possibility of Tesla entering Mexico has been deliberated since the previous October, when Musk traveled to Nuevo Leon and conferred with Mariana Rodriguez, the spouse of Governor Samuel Garcia.
