Samsung aims to enhance electromobility initiatives in Nuevo Leon.
NUEVO LEON – The Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Alejandro Garcia Sepulveda met with Samsung representatives in Latin America to advance investment ventures in the state pertaining to electromobility and renewable energy. Boosting investment in Nuevo Leon.
The session, held at Palacio de Cantera, saw the participation of Hyeon Cheol Choo, General Manager of Samsung C&T in Latin America. Also present were the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez; the Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning, Hernán Villarreal Rodríguez; and the Undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economy, Emanuel Loo.
García Sepúlveda emphasized the significance of this gathering for Nuevo León’s economic progress. “Last year we visited our counterparts at Samsung during a working trip to South Korea. Now, it’s our pleasure to host Hyeon Cheol Choo, CEO of Samsung C&T in Latin America, here in Nuevo León to demonstrate that we are the emerging global center for technology and electromobility. We continue to be the prime destination for investment and business; technology, electromobility, and new energy ventures keep coming,” stated the governor.
On his part, the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, elaborated that the primary objective of this initial visit by Samsung investors is to evaluate collaborative projects with Nuevo León concerning electromobility, particularly focusing on charging infrastructure, Nuevo Leon invest, as well as promoting renewable energy initiatives.
“The visit aligns with our efforts to transform Nuevo León into the premier electromobility hub in Latin America and also complements our initiatives with the Agency for the Promotion and Use of Renewable Energy, emphasizing these sustainable energy projects,” remarked Rivas Rodriguez.
It is anticipated that specific agreements between the Government of Nuevo León and Samsung will be formalized in the coming months for the advancement of electromobility and renewable energy ventures.
